UAA Athletes of the Week

Offense:
Emily Feldman 
Emory University

Emory University sophomore forward Emily Feldman scored twice in a 1:30 stretch in the first half to lead the Eagles to a 2-1 win over 19th-ranked Loras College in the NCAA Division III Women’s Soccer Championship regional semifinals. She nailed a must-make penalty kick in the seventh round as the Eagles advanced to the Final Four for the first time in the program’s history after playing UAA rival Carnegie Mellon University to a scoreless tie.

Junior goalkeeper Anna Albi recorded a pair of shutouts in the regional semifinals and final of the NCAA Division III Women’s Soccer Championship. The team recorded program-bests of seven consecutive shutouts and 13 shutouts for the season. The school record-holder for wins in a season, Albi made three saves in a 3-0 shutout of Wheaton College in the semifinals and stopped a game-high five shots in a scoreless tie with Emory University in the regional final.

Other Outstanding Performances

Dora Spital (Brandeis) scored both of her team’s goals as the Judges defeated State University of New York at Cortland 2-1 in the sectional semifinals of the NCAA Division III Women’s Soccer Championship. She tied the program’s single-season record with her eighth game-winning goal; Alex Venegas (Carnegie Mellon) scored twice and assisted on the other goal in a 3-0 Tartan victory over Wheaton College in the third round of the NCAA Championship. It marked her fifth multi-goal game of her career and second this season; Nicole Martin (Washington) scored both Bears’ goals, including the game-winner on a penalty kick in the 71st minute, in a 2-1 win over 14th-ranked Concordia College in the sectional semifinals of the NCAA Championship.
