UAA Athlete of the Week

Men’s Soccer — Offense
Ryan Browne (Carnegie Mellon University):
Ryan Browne of Carnegie Mellon University helped guide the Tartans to the sectionals of the 2009 NCAA Division III Men’s Soccer Championship with two victories over the weekend. In the opening round against Thomas More College, the senior tallied two goals in a 4-2 victory before scoring the lone goal in a 1-0 victory over Medaille College Sunday afternoon.

Men’s Soccer — Defense
Phil Proud (University of Rochester):
Defender Phil Proud scored one goal to help the University of Rochester blank SUNY Plattsburgh 3-0 in the second round of the NCAA Division III Men’s Soccer Championship. The senior scored on a free kick in the 52nd minute to give the Yellowjackets a three goal advantage. Proud was instrumental in holding the SUNYAC champions to just six shots on the day.

Scott Cady (Rochester)
scored the game-winning goal in a 3-0 win over SUNY Plattsburgh to help the Yellowjackets advance into the Sweet Sixteen.
