UAA Athlete of the Week
Aaron Thompson (Washington University):
Senior guard Aaron Thompson of Washington University scored a game-high 24 points to lead the first-ranked Bears to an 88-53 win over MacMurray College on Sunday. Thompson, the DIII News Preseason National Player of the Year, hit 9-for-19 from the field, including 5-for-11 from three-point range. He moved into 16th on the all-time scoring list with 1,148 career points.
Other Outstanding Athletes
Shane Rife (Carnegie Mellon) recorded his first career double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds in a 70-65 setback against St. John Fisher College… Keith Jensen (NYU) finished with 16 points and five rebounds while shooting 4-for-8 from beyond the arc. His performance helped the Violets to a 83-59 win over Stevens Institute of Technology.
