Katie Cecil (Carnegie Mellon University):
Sophomore Katie Cecil of fourth-ranked Carnegie Mellon University led the squad to a 2-0 week over regionally-ranked opponents with two wins at first singles. In a 7-2 win over 26th-ranked Denison University, Cecil defeated the Central Region’s eighth-ranked player before topping the third-ranked player in the Atlantic South Region from Johns Hopkins University in a 6-3 team victory. Cecil dropped only six games en route to both straight-set victories.
