Second baseman Julia Schneider batted .727 (8-for-11) with six runs scored and four RBI to help the University of Chicago win three of four games last week. The senior drove in the go-ahead run with a two-out single in the Maroons’ 3-1 victory over North Park University in the first game of a doubleheader on Tuesday. Schneider hit a perfect 3-for-3 and scored three runs in five innings in game two.
Olivia Cook (Washington University):
Senior pitcher Olivia Cook tossed two complete-game shutouts in wins at Principia College on Tuesday and Webster University on Sunday. Cook posted a 2-0 record with a 0.00 earned run average allowing six hits and no earned runs in 12 innings pitched. She allowed three hits and struck out four in a 15-0 win at Principia, and followed that performance with a three-hit shutout for a 4-0 victory at Webster. Cook is 11-6 overall with a 2.00 earned run average in 112.0 innings pitched.
