UAA Athlete of the Week
Ross Spock (Emory University):
Emory University sophomore Ross Spock recorded an NCAA Division III provisional time in the 100-yard backstroke during the third-ranked Eagles’ dual meet at Clemson University on Saturday. Spock finished second with a provisional time of 51.00 seconds in the event. He also finished seventh in the 100-yard freestyle in 21.80 seconds. Spock was part of two ‘A’ relay teams as well, helping the Eagles’ 200-yard medley relay to a second-place finish with a 1:33.28 clocking, and the 200-yard freestyle relay to third place with a time of 1:24.08.
Kolin Smialek (Emory University):
Diver Kolin Smialek of Emory University recorded NCAA Division III qualifying scores in both diving events at a dual meet at Clemson University on Saturday. Smialek won the one-meter dive with a qualifying score of 278.33. His score of 316.24 on the three-meter board also surpassed the qualifying mark and earned him second place in the event. The Eagles fell to Division I Clemson by a score of 174-121, ending their dual-meet season with a 2-6 record.
