Offense:
Lee Russo (Brandeis University):
Forward Lee Russo of Brandeis University scored three goals and registered two assists in three games to help the Judges to their second consecutive ECAC Division III New England title. He carried the offense with both goals in a 2-0 quarterfinal win over Southern Vermont College on Wednesday. After being kept off the board in a 3-0 semifinal win over Norwich University on Saturday, the junior tallied a goal and two assists in Sunday’s 8-0 championship victory over Albertus Magnus College. Russo finished the season with a team-leading nine goals and 24 points.
Defense:
Joe Eisenbies (Brandeis University):
Brandeis University central defending midfielder Joe Eisenbies was named Most Valuable Player of the 2011 ECAC Division III New England Men’s Soccer Tournament. Eisenbies helped hold all three opponents to just nine shots on goal, including four by an Albertus Magnus College team that had scored eight goals in its first two ECAC contests. The junior bolstered the Judges to their second-straight ECAC title and the fourth in program history.
