The National Association of Division III Athletic Administrators (NADIIIAA) announced today the recipients of this year’s NADIIIAA/JOSTENS Community Service Awards. Each of the institutions and/or conferences are being recognized for the impressive community service projects performed by their student-athletes during the 2006-07 academic year.
The awards program is co-sponsored by the NADIIIAA and Jostens and is intended to recognize the many contributions Division III student-athletes regularly make to their campuses and local communities. The winners this year in each of the three award categories are: Mills College; Springfield College and State University of New York College at Geneseo. In addition to receiving commemorative trophies, the NADIIIAA and Jostens will make a $1,000 contribution to the general scholarship fund at each of these institutions. The awards will be presented at the NCAA Convention to be held in Nashville this coming January.
In addition, Manhattanville College, Carleton College, Stevens Institute of Technology, La Grange College, Defiance College, Washington & Lee University and Haverford College will receive “Awards of Merit”. Rowan University, Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC), University of Southern Maine, Salem State College, Montclair State University, State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) and the College of St. Scholastica will receive “Honorable Mention” recognition.
