Erica Jackey (Washington University):
Erica Jackey of Washington University ran a season-best time of 21:04.21 over the 6,000-meter course to finish fourth individually in a field of 277 national qualifiers. The senior led the Bears to their first NCAA Division III Women’s Cross Country Championship title with the highest NCAA championship finish in school history. Jackey claimed 2011 UAA Women’s Cross Country Individual Champion honors in October.
Other Outstanding Athletes
Kate Warwick (Brandeis) finished 48th in a time of 21:54.84… Tess Gallegos (Emory) placed 42nd with a time of 22:02… Rachel Ohman (Chicago) finished 25th in a time of 21:32… All runners competed at the NCAA Division III Women’s Cross Country Championship.
