UAA Athlete of the Week

Junior Katie Cecil and sophomore Angela Pratt captured the first doubles title at the 2013 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division III National Women’s Team Indoor Championship. They recorded an 8-4 win over opponents from Skidmore College, an 8-3 victory over the Trinity University first doubles squad, and finished with an 8-5 victory over their opponents from Johns Hopkins University. Cecil also posted a 3-0 mark at first singles, while Pratt posted a 2-1 record at fourth singles.

Other Outstanding Performances

Megan Tang (Chicago) finished 3-0 at first singles and 2-1 at first doubles at the ITA Division III National Women’s Team Indoor Championships. She is now 14-2 in singles and 7-3 in doubles. The Maroons placed third at the event with a 2-1 mark; Madison Gordon (Emory) posted a 2-1 singles record, including a win over her NCAA Division I opponent from University of Alabama-Birmingham. Her sixth singles victory helped lead the Eagles to a 6-3 win over 18th-ranked University of the South; Jamie Silverberg (Washington) won at third singles and second doubles as the Bears swept Rhodes College 9-0.
