Offense
Melissa Gorenkoff (Brandeis University):
Brandeis University forward Melissa Gorenkoff earned Most Valuable Player honors at the 2008 ECAC Division III New England championships this weekend. In three games, the junior scored four goals and assisted on two more. Gorenkoff contributed to the first two goals of all three contests. She assisted on the game-winner and the second goal in a 4-0 win over St. Joseph College (CT) in the quarterfinals, scored the first two goals in a 3-0 semifinal win over Emmanuel College, and assisted on the first goal and scored what proved to be the game-winner in a 3-1 win over the University of New England in the title game. The Judges successfully defended their ECAC crown.
Siggy Nachtergaele (University of Chicago):
Senior midfielder Siggy Nachtergaele scored the first of four goals and assisted on another as the University of Chicago defeated Wittenberg University 4-0 in the opening round of the 2008 NCAA Division III Women’s Soccer Championship. Nachtergaele converted a cross at the 23:09 mark for the only goal Chicago would need. She then converted a penalty kick as the Maroons edged Calvin College 7-6 in a shootout to advance to the national Round of 16.
Defense
Amanda Boe (Washington University):
Goalkeeper Amanda Boe posted back-to-back shutouts to help Washington University advance to the NCAA Division III Sectional Semifinals for the third consecutive season with two victories at home. Boe made one save in a 3-0 victory over Principia College in the first round on Saturday. She followed that up with seven saves and stopped three of four penalty kicks in a 3-1 shootout victory over Illinois Wesleyan University in the second round on Sunday. The senior leads the UAA in saves (83) and saves per game (4.15) and is third in save percentage (.838).

Offense
Alexa Wahr (Emory) registered two goals in NCAA Tournament last week, both goals came in a 3-0 victory over St. Mary’s College of Maryland… Caitlin Malone (Washington) scored two goals in the Bears 3-0 win over Prinicipia College in the first round of the NCAA Tournament… Rebecca Assing (NYU) recorded two goals and an assist in a 1-1-1 week for the Violets to help them reach the ECAC Division III Metro Tournament Championship game.
Defense
Grace Lam (Emory) helped hold opponents to one goal on 13 shots over two games in the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament… Katie Gaston (NYU) led a defensive effort that posted a 0.62 goals against average as the Violets went 1-1-1 on the week and reached the ECAC Division III Metro Tournament championship… Emma Gormley (Chicago) tallied one save and scored the deciding goal in the shootout to help the Maroons to advance to the third round of the NCAA Tournament.
