Emory University junior guard Hannah Lilly averaged team-highs with 16.5 points, 4.0 steals, and 3.5 three-point field goals in helping the Eagles to first- and second-round wins in the NCAA Division III Women’s Basketball Championship. She totaled a game-high 17 points in the Eagles’ 72-65 win over Whitworth University on Friday, hitting a season-high five 3-pointers. Lilly recorded a career-high with six steals and netted 16 points in an 88-62 triumph over Huntingdon College.
Other Outstanding Performances
Melissa Gilkey (Washington) averaged 12.5 points and 9.0 rebounds per game in two Bears’ wins in the NCAA Division III Women’s Basketball Championship. She recorded her seventh double-double with 18 points and 11 boards in a 78-75 second-round win over Rhodes College. She also blocked four shots to move into ninth all-time in the program with 65 career blocks. The Bears advanced to the sectional round of the tournament for the 15th time in school history. |
