UAA Athlete of the Week

MM Alli Alberts (Washington): The junior outside hitter was named the Most Valuable Player of the 2007 NCAA Division III Volleyball Championship in Bloomington, IL, helping the Bears to their Division III-record ninth national title.  Alberts finished the three-match week with 39 kills (3.00 per game), 53 digs, and seven total blocks.  She totaled 13 kills, 15 digs, and five blocks in a four-game quarterfinal triumph over Association rival Emory University, and tallied 15 kills and 22 digs in a five-game win over the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in the championship match.


Honor Roll

MM Janet Bunning (Emory): The senior tallied 17 kills and 13 digs for the Eagles in a four-game loss to eventual national champion Washington University in the quarterfinals of the 2007 NCAA Division III Championship in Bloomington, IL. Bunning finished with the contest with a .325 hitting percentage and also contributed four blocks as she closes her collegiate career with 1,032 kills, good for eighth place on the school’s career chart, and 352 career blocks, fourth all-time at Emory.
