UAA Athlete of the Week

Kyle Gerber
Case Western Reserve University
Columbus, OH (St. Charles Prep)

Case Western Reserve University senior Kyle Gerber posted a combined 7-1 singles and doubles record to help the Spartans to five dual match victories. He lost his opening singles match of the weekend at first singles versus Hope College before responding with three straight-set victories in the next 24 hours at second and third singles. Gerber posted a 4-0 mark in doubles with four different teammates.

Other Outstanding Performances

Alec Siegel (Brandeis) clinched the winning point at sixth singles, rallying from a first-set loss to give the Judges a 5-4 home win over Vassar College; Seventh-ranked Case picked up five dual match victories, including three versus regionally ranked opponents to move to 11-0. The Spartans’ seventh-place ranking is the highest in school history; CJ Leong (NYU) won three of four matches as the Violets split two matches. He won both his matches at fourth singles, dropping only two games in a win over his opponent from Drew University and then posting another straight-set win over his Skidmore College opponent.
