Case Western Reserve University graduate student Vinny Bell posted career-highs of seven receptions and 180 yards receiving to lead the Spartans past Carnegie Mellon University 36-24 in the 27th Annual Academic Bowl. He caught one scoring pass and also rushed once for 19 yards. Bell caught passes for 28 and 32 yards, and two 37-yard tosses.

Senior defensive end Adam Watson of Case Western Reserve University registered six tackles, five quarterback hurries, and one sack in the Spartans’ 36-24 win over Carnegie Mellon University. He also blocked a field goal for his fifth combined kick block of the season and made four solo stops.
William Small
Washington University
Briarcliff Manor, NY (The Hackley School)
Senior defensive lineman William Small of Washington University recorded five tackles, two forced fumbles, one sack and one pass break-up as the Bears clinched the UAA title with a 23-7 victory at the University of Chicago. He registered three unassisted stops and finished the season leading the team in tackles for loss (9.0), sacks (5.5), and forced fumbles (three).

Sam Thompson

Senior Sam Thompson of Carnegie Mellon University returned a punt 56 yards for a touchdown in a 36-24 loss to Case Western Reserve University. The score was his second career punt return for a touchdown and he is currently ranked second in NCAA Division III, averaging 18.73 yards per return.
Other Outstanding Performances
Carnegie Mellon has been chosen to play in the ECAC Southwest Bowl at Waynesburg University on Saturday; Eric Daginella (Washington) completed 18 of 32 passes for a career-high 236 yards and one touchdown as the Bears clinched the UAA title with a 23-7 win at the University of Chicago. He added 34 yards rushing for 274 yards of total offense. Alec Stanke made his collegiate debut and averaged 44.7 yards per punt on three punts.
