UAA Athlete of the Week

MMScott Hofer (Chicago): The junior catcher batted .387 (12-for-31) with six runs scored, seven runs batted in, and a .613 slugging percentage during a 2-5 week for the Maroons.  Hofer belted a two-run home run in a 6-4 win over Wheaton College (IL) and hit a grand slam homer in the seventh inning during a 14-13 loss at Aurora University.

MMJoe Pankow (Chicago): The sophomore right-hander won both of his starts with a 2.31 earned run average in a 2-5 week for the Maroons.  In a 6-4 triumph over Wheaton College (IL), a team averaging 8.7 runs with a .353 batting average, Pankow held the Thunder scoreless in seven innings pitched, yielding four hits while striking out five batters.  Four days later, he allowed nine hits and five runs over seven innings in an 8-5 win over Rockford College, the fifth-ranked team in the Central Region.
