Case Western Reserve University senior shortstop Andrew Frey batted .727 (8-for-11) with four runs scored and seven runs batted in as the Spartans swept Oberlin College 15-1 and 9-7. He finished a career-best 5-for-6 in the first game of the twinbill with two runs scored and three RBI before recording three extra-base hits in the second game with two doubles, a triple, and four RBI.

CJ Price

Washington University second baseman/catcher CJ Price hit .600 (12-for-20) to lead the Bears to four wins in five games. The freshman drove in a run in four different games, scored five runs, and walked four times. Price finished 5-for-6 with three runs scored in a 9-8 Washington victory over DePauw University.

Hans Hansen 
Emory University 
Playa del Rey, CA (Harvard-Westlake)

Emory University freshman hurler Hans Hansen tossed a seven-hit shutout in a 5-0 Eagle win over Berry College. He shut down the Vikings, who entered the game ranked 40th in NCAA Division III this season, walking two and striking out three.

Nick Gollin 
Washington University 
Redlands, CA (The Webb Schools)

Washington University freshman pitcher Nick Gollin earned two wins in three days without allowing a hit in seven innings. He threw three perfect innings in a 15-3 Bears’ rout of Fontbonne College and came back two days later to throw four hitless innings of relief, allowing one earned run.

Other Outstanding Performances

John Fortunato (CWRU) threw five innings of shutout ball without walking a batter in a 15-1 win over Oberlin College. The 18th-ranked Spartans have won six consecutive games… Daniel Iturrey (Emory) finished 3-for-6 with a run scored, a double, and two runs batted in as the Eagles split two games… Josh Ludwig (Rochester) batted .353 (6-for-17) with two runs scored and six runs batted in as the Yellowjackets won all five of their games…
