Case Western Reserve University junior Jordan Swisher finished 5-for-7 in two Spartan games on Saturday with a double, triple, and home run. The catcher scored two runs and drove in five as CWRU split, defeating Denison University 12-7 before falling to Marietta College 2-1.
Sherman Oaks, CA (Harvard-Westlake)
Emory University junior centerfielder Wes Peacock batted .669 (6-for-9) with five runs scored, two home runs, and 11 runs batted in to lead the Eagles to a 3-0 mark. He finished the week going 4-for-4 with a home run, three runs scored, and five RBI in a 14-2 victory over NAIA opponent Rochester College.
Playa del Rey, CA (Harvard-Westlake)
Emory University freshman pitcher Hans Hansen earned his third win of the season, yielding only a leadoff single before retiring the final 15 batters he faced in a 14-2 Eagle victory over Rochester College. He has not walked a batter in his first 22 innings of collegiate work and fanned three hitters against Rochester.
Other Outstanding Performances
Dan Sondag (CWRU) recorded his second save of the season with a career-high 2.2 scoreless innings of relief in the Spartans’ victory over Denison College… Wes Peacock (Emory) moved his batting average to .380 and leads the team with 19 runs scored and three home runs, while tying for the team lead with 20 runs batted in.
