2004 UAA BASEBALL
CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT
Sunday-Thursday, March 7-11, Sanford (FL) Memorial Stadium

EMORY UNIVERSITY SWEEPS SIX EN ROUTE
TO ASSOCIATION BASEBALL TITLE

MThey say timing is everything. For Emory University, that timing came in the form of a pair of ninth-inning rallies on the opening day of play of the 2004 University Athletic Association Baseball Championship Tournament in Sanford, FL. After using last inning heroics to pull off back-to-back victories on the first day, the Eagles scored in double figures in three of their next four games in posting a perfect 6-0 recort in capturing their seventh Association title, becoming only the second team in the tournament's 16-year history to run the table in the five-day tournament. The University of Rochester finished second among the five teams with a 5-1 mark, its best UAA finish since 1990. Washington University followed in third place with a 2-4 record, while Brandeis University and Case Western Reserve University tied for fourth with identical 1-5 marks.

[2004 All-UAA team named. Emory's Andrew Pinckney and Rob Segear share MVP honor. Ben Dashefsky of Brandeis named Rookie of the Year]
