Lexington, KY – November 12, 2009 – Ten individuals from UAA volleyball teams have received AVCA All-Region honors. Eight were selected to their respective All-Region teams including two first-year players who were named Region Freshman of the Year. Two players also received Honorable Mention recognition.
UAA Rookie of the Year Kendyl Dunn, a middle blocker from New York University, was named Region Freshman of the Year for the New York Region, and Kelly Pang, a libero from Washington University, was accorded the same honor for the Central Region. |

Middle blocker Erin Albers of Washington U. was selected to the Central Region team for the third time, and UAA Player of the Year Natalie Schonefeld of Emory University was selected to the South Region team for the second time.
Joing Albers on the Central Region team were teammates Marilee Fisher and Pang. In the South Region, Schonefeld was joined by fellow Eagle Jessica McAlvany while teammate Alysse Meyer received Honorable Mention.
NYU placed two individuals on the New York Region team. Joining Dunn was setter Mina Baban. Teammate Elizabeth Dick received Honorable Mention.
Rounding out the UAA contingent was Aislinn McCloskey of Carnegie Mellon University. |
