Susan Bassett Named Under Armour Athletics DIrector of the Year -Anaheim, CA – June 22, 2010 - Carnegie Mellon University Director of Athletics, Physical Education and Recreation Susan Bassett has been named the Under Armour Athletics Director of the Year. Myles Brand, University of Rochester Alumnus, Honored by Division III Commissioners Association at NCAA Convention - Atlanta, GA – January 16, 2010 - Myles Brand was remembered as “an active supporter of the Division III philosophy and Division III values” as the Division III Commissioners Association presented its annual Meritorious Service Award posthumously to the NCAA president who lost his battle against cancer last fall. Two UAA Institutions Recognized for Diversity Efforts - Atlanta, GA – January 16, 2010 - Emory University and the University of Rochester were among 38 Division III institutions recognized during the Division III Business Session at the 2010 NCAA Convention as recipients of the 2008-09 Diversity in Athletics Awards. The awards were announced previously by the Laboratory for Diversity in Sport at Texas A&M University in collaboration with the National Collegiate Athletic Association. UAA Student-Athletes and Teams Receive NSCAA Honors - Philadelphia, PA – January 16, 2010 – The National Soccer Coaches Association of America recognized student-athletes and teams from across the UAA at the recent NSCAA Convention.  Six soccer players representing four UAA member institutions were named to the 2009 NSCAA/Performance Subaru Division III All-America Team.  In addition, two UAA soccer student-athletes were honored as NSCAA/adidas Men’s Scholar All-Americans, and 11 teams earned NSCAA Team Academic Awards. Terry Gurnett Honored by National Soccer Coaches Association - Philadelphia, PA – January 16, 2010 – The largest coaching organization in the world has saluted the achievements of Rochester women’s soccer coach Terry Gurnett. The National Soccer Coaches Association of America presented Gurnett with a Letter of Commendation at its 2010 Convention in Philadelphia, PA. Four UAA Schools Named Among Top 25 "Best Neighbor" Colleges and Universities - Philadelphia, PA – October 12, 2009 - Four UAA member institutions were among the academic institutions named as the nation's top 25 "best neighbor" colleges and universities. The list’s 25 academic institutions were selected because of their positive impact on their urban communities, including both commercial and residential activities such as revitalization, cultural renewal, economics, and community service and development. Case Western Reserve University was ranked seventh, the University of Rochester 14th, Emory University 17th, and Carnegie Mellon University 19th. In addition, New York University, the University of Chicago, and Washington University in St. Louis were recognized on an Honor Roll of 100 other institutions also making significant contributions to their communities. Helpful Hints About the Web Site Format

News and Notes — The main front page of the web site and the front page for each sport will contain a brief synopsis of recent headline stories and announcements, often with a link to more complete information. These items are archived under the News Releases on the main page and the News and Notes Archive on individual sport pages. Navigation — Active links are generally displayed in a Bold Blue typeface. Clicking on a Pennant in the main header will take you to the Athletics Web Site of the respective institution. On individual sport pages the pennants are replaced by Mascots/Logos and clicking on those images will take you to the respective Sport Web Page at that institution. The Member Institution Names at the top left of the main page are linked to the Main Home Page of the respective member institution.Standings and Scoreboard Links — Standings, Scores of Contests, Composite Schedules, and Association Schedules for all round robin sports are available through links to a common database shared by a number of conferences at Presto Sports D3 Scoreboard. The Standings and Scoreboard links on the main page provide a quick, scrollable summary of standings and contest scores for all sports. On individual sport pages, these links provide greater detail and allow you to view schedules and results for individual institutions as well as across the Association.

Downloadable Documents — Much of the information available on the new web site is provided in the form of printable PDF documents. Some of these documents are rather long and may take additional time to download and display. Wherever possible we have formatted these documents to display with a Bookmarked table of contents to aid in navigating through long documents. This feature, however, may not be available to those using older browsers or older versions of Adobe Acrobat or other PDF display software.
